NASA’s Hubble Telescope captures Jupiter’s Nice Crimson Spot performing like a “big stress ball”

Astronomers have been observing Jupiter’s legendary Nice Crimson Spot (GRS), “an anticyclone giant sufficient to swallow Earth”, for the final 150 years. But regardless of the longevity of the observations of this long-lived monumental storm system, there are all the time new surprises.

The Nice Crimson Spot is an anticyclone, “an enduring space of excessive strain on Jupiter making a persistent storm,” in line with House.com. It’s the largest storm in our photo voltaic system, and at 10,159 miles / 16,350km broad, it’s about 1.3 instances the width of the Earth (7,918 miles / 12,740 km).
