Hannah Kobayashi, a photographer whose disappearance final month generated widespread media curiosity, has been discovered protected, the Hawaii girl’s household confirmed on Wednesday, December 11.
Los Angeles police stated that Kobayashi willingly crossed the border into Mexico and famous that there was no proof of foul play.
Kobayashi was flying from Maui to New York Metropolis when she missed a connecting flight in Los Angeles, California; the police now consider the missed flight was intentional. Kobayashi’s household didn’t say the place or how the 30-year-old was discovered. Los Angeles police reported that she was “voluntarily lacking” on December 03, after discovering video of Kobayashi crossing the border into Mexico the day after her household had reported her lacking. On December 11, her household confirmed that she had been discovered protected.
Kobayashi’s relations traveled to Los Angeles to seek for her. Her father, Ryan Kobayashi, was discovered deceased on November 24 in LA. In a press release, the household stated that he had died by suicide.
With the disappearance’s widespread media consideration, a GoFundMe was established to assist the household pay for journey bills as they searched. The household is now providing refunds after authorities decided that Kobayashi was “voluntarily lacking.” The GoFundMe web page raised almost $50,000 (roughly £39,400 / AU$78,400) in donations.
